Talking Heads Announce Deluxe Edition Reissue Of Debut Album, ‘Talking Heads: 77’

Talking Heads have just announced on Instagram that they are releasing an expansive 4xLP box set reissue of their groundbreaking 1977 debut album, Talking Heads: 77, on November 8. The sprawling collection features a remastered version of the original album on one LP, with another LP filled with rare and previously-unreleased demos and outtakes. The jewel of the box set is a 2-LP live set featuring a previously unreleased performance from that era, Live at CBGB’s, New York, NY, Oct. 10, 1977, which the band says is a “live recording of the final gig at CBGB’s.” The set also includes four 7-inch singles, highlighted by a newly-released acoustic version of “Psycho Killer” featuring Arthur Russell, along with an 80-page hardcover book featuring photos, memorabilia, and liner notes handwritten by band members David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz, and Jerry Harrison.
