Tom Morello Is Pushing For Iron Maiden To Be Inducted Into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

During a recent appearance on the Paltrocast With Darren Paltrowitz podcast, Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello put his support behind Iron Maiden to eventually be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The British heavy metal giants have been eligible for the Rock Hall since 2005, and were nominated for induction back in 2021 and 2023. Morello thinks that Maiden has waited long enough.

“Mother-flippin’ Maiden, dude! That’s been on the top of my list for a while,” he said. “I feel very, very fortunate that they let me into that — I’m not sure how fortunate they feel — but I feel very fortunate that they let me into that room to make my case for the Randy Rhoads’es and the Kiss’es and the Stevie Ray Vaughans, Rush, Judas Priest and MC5 — but Maiden’s next.”

For his part, Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson is less enthused about the prospect. “Rock ‘n’ roll music does not belong in a mausoleum in Cleveland,” he has been quoted as saying. “It’s a living, breathing thing, and if you put it in a museum, then it’s dead. It’s worse than horrible, it’s vulgar.” (Ultimate Classic Rock)
